The community surrounding First United Methodist Church is a versatile and vibrant one consisting of a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and paths. Being a teenager in this world can be a struggle with all of the pressures daily life presents. Having a strong moral system based on the teachings of Jesus is paramount to setting our youth up for success as adults. FUMC’s EPIC Youth Program aims to instill a sense of enrichment, responsibility, and enjoyment between the church, Jesus Christ and our kids.
We meet on Sunday evenings from 5-6:30pm. We spread around the location so check the church calendar or call the church office (704-857-9713) for details for this week’s meeting location.
**** Summer Schedule is different than the school year. We will meet on Tuesday’s for our mystery Tuesday events. Stay tuned for times and activities*******

Our aim is to have one big event every month in addition to our weekly meetings on Sundays and Sunday School. These events typically alternate between Spiritual Enrichment Events, Missions, Fundraising, and Fun Events and are for kids grades 6th - Early College and ages 11+.
Whether it’s a long weekend at Spirit-Us at the beach, a Winter Jam concert in downtown Charlotte or an in-depth Confirmation study, we are always on the lookout to provide nourishment for our Christian souls. Promoting spiritual growth and action is key to becoming adult Christian leaders.
We pride ourselves in staying active in our local, state, national and global communities by helping those in need and volunteering our time. Instilling sensitivity to those who are less fortunate than us helps us grow closer to Christ and together as family.
The FUMC youth understand that with fun and opportunity come hard work. We conduct a number of fundraisers throughout the year to help finance the trips and events we participate in. Some of these include our Super Bowl Chili-Off, Dinner/Talent Shows, and Krispy Kreme Fundraisers. These are great chances for kids to learn teamwork and working towards a common goal.
BRING A FRIEND! Our youth group has an “Open Invitation Policy”. Anyone is welcome to join us for any event anytime. If you are interested in volunteering with our youth as an adult chaperone, please contact Sarah King at 336-466-2409.
Being a kid is a blast! No matter where we go or what we do we will ALWAYS have good, clean and safe fun! Things like mini golf, Carowinds, ice cream, pool parties, lake parties, games, whitewater rafting, ropes courses, skits, camping, sports, and more are in our arsenal of fun! We ALWAYS need more kids to have more fun. Come and join us! Everyone is welcome!
